Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating the "police-involved shooting" that left one person dead and three in hospital on Friday night, in the area of Queen Frederica Drive in Mississauga, Ont.
Two of the injured are Peel Regional Police officers.

One of the officers was shot, the other was stabbed. Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to Peel Regional Police spokesman Const. George Tudos. The SIU described their injuries as non-life threatening.
A male civilian was shot and pronounced dead on the scene. Another civilian was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The SIU released a statement Saturday morning saying that, "There was an interaction between police and a 30-year-old male, and he was shot multiple times."
The statement said the officers were called to the Mississauga address, near Dixie Road and Dundas St. East, around 10:40 p.m. The SIU has assigned five investigators and three forensic investigators to look into what led to the fatal shooting. Three officers and seven witnesses have already been identified as subjects to speak with by the SIU.
On Friday night, Tudos said the incident occurred after the officers were called to an apartment building on Queen Frederica Drive.
Police are investigating but are not looking for any suspects, he said.
"At this point everybody we believe who was involved is accounted for," Tudos told reporters.
Police are asking any witnesses to come forward.
The incident has drawn a heavy police presence to the neighbourhood near Dixie Road and Dundas Street East, where officers have remained for several hours. As many as 80 police cars were on the scene at one point.
The SIU investigates all incidents involving police in which serious injury or death occurs.
