A 45-year-old man was killed when a tree fell on the tent he was camping in during a storm Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews were called just before 2 a.m. to the campground at Falcon Beach in eastern Manitoba.
A large tree had fallen on a tent during a period of heavy rain and wind. There were two people in the tent at the time, RCMP said.
The 45-year-old man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name will not be released to the public, police said.
A 44-year-old woman, also from Quebec, was treated for minor injures.
There were no other injuries reported. The weather was severe in the area at the time, with several trees reported to have been blown down, RCMP said.
