At least 25 people waited in line this morning outside the Montreal courtroom where Luka Magnotta's preliminary hearing was set to begin.
He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jun Lin, a Chinese-born student at Concordia University in Montreal.
Magnotta is also accused of committing indignities to a human corpse, mailing obscene materials, publishing obscene materials and threatening public officials.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Some journalists had been waiting in line since 6:30 a.m. to attend the hearing. The defence is expected to present a motion to bar the public and media from attending the hearing.
