Jarome Iginla says goodbye to Calgary

Written By Unknown on Kamis, 28 Maret 2013 | 22.40

The Calgary Flames ended months of speculation on Wednesday night by trading longtime captain Jarome Iginla to the Pittsburgh Penguins for U.S. college forwards Kenneth Agostino and Ben Hanowski and Pittsburgh's first-round pick in the 2013 NHL draft.

The deal reunites Iginla with Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, who scored the overtime winner in the gold-medal game at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics on an assist by Iginla.

The trade also strips the Flames of one of the most popular and respected players in the team's history and the all-time franchise leader in points, goals and games played.

Iginla is scheduled to say goodbye to Calgary at a news conference at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. MT.
