Maritimes to see snow, wind and freezing rain on Saturday

Parts of the Maritimes are under snowfall, wind and freezing rain warnings Saturday.

Northern New Brunswick is expected to be hardest hit with 15 to 20 cm of snow and there are snowfall warnings in effect for the area, according to Environment Canada.

The central and southern regions of the province should see a mix of rain and freezing rain Saturday morning before changing over to snow.

Freezing rain warnings are in effect for Kent County and Kouchibouguac National Park.

Windy day in P.E.I.

In P.E.I., the entire island is under a wind warning. Strong northwesterly winds could have gusts of up to 100 km/h.

Charlottetown should see 5 to 10 mm of rain today, which will change to snow this evening. About 2 cm of the white stuff is expected to fall.

Nova Scotia forecast

Environment Canada has issued some wind warnings for parts of Nova Scotia, specifically Inverness and Victoria counties in Cape Breton. Gusts could reach as high as 100 km/h.

In Halifax, it's looking like a rainy day, with 10 mm of rain expected and temperatures hitting a high of 5 C.
