Today on our Wednesdays with @Kady live chat:

  • Arguments began today in a much-anticipated Supreme Court challenge to the current illegality of doctor-assisted suicide. It's the court's second chance to consider the passionate arguments for and against euthanasia, two decades after Sue Rodriguez, a terminally-ill woman who wanted the right to end her life at a time of her choosing, lost a narrow decision at the top court. How do you feel about the Supreme Court considering this question again? Depending on the outcome, how would you like provincial and federal governments to proceed?
  • Yesterday NDP Leader Tom Mulcair put down a major policy marker in the run-up to the 2015 election: a national child care plan that aims to make care more affordable for families, aiming to offer spaces for as little as $15/day. How do you feel about the proposal? Does the federal government need to act in this area? What are your concerns? Would it be a "ballot question" for your family and motivate your vote, one way or another?
