An Air Canada flight from Toronto to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the FIFA World Cup is being held, was forced to return to Pearson International Airport this morning amid security concerns.
Flight AC 090 departed the Toronto airport Wednesday night just as flights were grounded due to a security breach.
A man had slipped through security, just before 11 p.m. ET, without being checked.

All departures were held on the ground while security and police searched for the man.
The flight, which left at 12 a.m. ET, was recalled to Pearson after several hours in the air. The website flight tracker shows the plane's flight path making a 180-degree turn just north of Turks and Caicos Islands.
Plane in air 4 hours
Air Canada said the plane was ordered to return to Pearson airport by Transport Canada after it was in the air for four hours, though one passenger told CBC News the plane flew for three hours before turning back.
The company says the flight landed at Pearson at 6:30 a.m. As of 8 a.m., all the passengers were off the plane.
Air Canada said passengers are being offered a new flight that will depart later Thursday morning.
Passenger and University of Windsor women's basketball coach Chantal Vallée told CBC News that a heavy security presence greeted the plane shortly after it landed in Toronto.
"Vans and cars of police and border patrol waiting for us in Toronto surrounding airplane," Vallée said in a note sent to CBC News. "Then police officers in the plane came and arrested a man."
As of 8 a.m. Vallée was inside a waiting room at the airport. She also said there are still people waiting to get off the plane, and they were told the flight will now leave at 9:30 a.m.
'A lot of confusion in the air'
Olivier Cullen, another passenger who was travelling to Brazil for the World Cup, said he awoke from a nap to learn about the flight's diversion.
'It was the longest flight from Toronto to Toronto that I've ever been on.'- Olivier Cullen, passenger
"The captain came on and said, 'Good morning, you may notice that the sun is rising on the right-hand side of the plane due to the fact that we'd been diverted to Toronto.'"
"People were almost laughing because we didn't believe it," Cullen told CBC News.

He said the announcement was met with confusion, while some passengers thought it was a joke. Some passengers were angry because they had tickets to this afternoon's World Cup match between England and Uruguay — a match they will now miss.
"There was a lot of confusion in the air. People are upset, but some people are taking it in stride," Cullen said.
"It was the longest flight from Toronto to Toronto that I've ever been on."
Cullen also told CBC News there was a heavy police presence after the plane returned to Pearson. He confirmed that one man was escorted off the plane.
He said police appeared to be very interested in a piece of carry-on luggage the man who was taken into custody was carrying. One passenger described the person taken into custody as "a young man."
The Greater Toronto Airport Authority says the investigation is being handled by Peel Regional Police and Transport Canada.
