RCMP in Manitoba say they won't lay charges in the death of a seven-year-old girl who was mauled by two Alaskan malamute dogs near Oakbank, Man., last month.

The girl was attacked on March 16 by the two dogs, which belonged to friends of the girl's family.

RCMP announced on Thursday they have finished their investigation and won't lay any criminal charges.

The dogs, three-year-old malamutes named Shadow and Bear, were seized and euthanized after the attack.
