Dennis Cheeseman, one of two men convicted of manslaughter in the killing of four RCMP officers near Mayerthorpe, Alta., in 2005, is being released from prison.
Cheeseman was sentenced to 7 years, 2 months and 15 days. He was eligible for statutory release on Nov. 19 after serving two-thirds of his sentence
Cheeseman and his brother-in-law Shawn Hennessey were convicted of giving James Roszko a gun and a ride to the farm where the officers were killed.
Colleen Myrol, the mother of slain Const. Brock Myrol, says she wants Cheeseman to tell her exactly what happened.
"I want to know how involved he was with Roszko and with Hennessey," she said. "I just want him to sit back and sit with me and talk to me truthfully about everything and not with a lawyer's attitude."
The RCMP had little to say about Cheeseman's release beyond stating that the legal process was over.
