A memorial continues to grow outside Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel where Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead over the weekend.
The 31-year-old's body was found by hotel staff when he failed to check out on Saturday. The cause of death has not been determined.
Publicist Lesley Diana worked with Monteith and was with him the day he won the audition for Glee. She went to the hotel Monday to leave flowers in his memory.
"I've just been so sad, so I wanted to bring flowers and just say something," she said through tears.
Dozens of fans also gathered at the site as news of Monteith's death spread.
Fan Carly Walker is organizing a candlelight vigil in Monteith's memory on Friday outside the hotel.
"I'm still in shock," she said. "I can't take this. I really hope a lot of people around town and even a little far out will come and show their love."
Investigation expedited
The investigation into the actor's death has been handed over to the B.C. Coroners Service.
Police say there was no indication of foul play and it's believed he was alone when he died.
An autopsy and toxicology tests were completed Monday but aren't expected to be released to the public for several days.
Coroner Barb McLintock says her office is trying to expedite the results.
"We might try and do a little kind of queue jumping to see if we can get them a little earlier, simply because we recognize this is a case with a huge amount of public interest," McLintock said.
"So if we can expedite them somewhat, we'll try and do that, but we're not going to compromise the quality of the investigation to do that."
News of the actor's death has made headlines across the globe, and McLintock says the office is being bombarded by hundreds of media calls a day.
'This is the place he loved'
Andrew Nodell, a New York-based reporter for Life and Style and In Touch Weekly, came to Vancouver to cover the story.
Canadian actor Cory Monteith played Finn Hudson on the wildly successful TV show Glee. (Danny Moloshok/Reuters)"This is the place he loved, this is the place he lived, [where] he grew up," Nodell said.
"We really wanted to speak to those who knew him and loved him here in Vancouver, and to really get a sense of what the neighbourhood is like. Where was he spending his final days? Where was he choosing to spend his time when he was recovering?"
Monteith had talked bluntly about struggling with addiction since he was a teenager, calling it a serious problem and telling Parade magazine in 2011 he was "lucky to be alive."
The actor is best known for playing Finn Hudson, a football quarterback with two left feet who found more camaraderie in the choir room than on the football field, on the wildly popular television series Glee.
