Runners in Ottawa will march from Parliament Hill to the American Embassy today in memory of the victims from the Boston Marathon bombings one week ago.
The one-kilometre trek will begin after speeches from Sharon Johnson, wife of Gov. Gen. David Johnston, and Phil Marsh, regional manager of the local Running Room stores.
The scheduled start time is 12:45 p.m. ET. There will be a livestream of the speeches and walk on this page.
Three people were killed and more than 180 were wounded when two bombs exploded just blocks away from each other near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
Officials said 50 people remained in hospital as of Monday, including some in critical condition. Some people were forced to have their limbs amputated as a result of their injuries.
Dylan Wykes, a long-distance runner from Kingston, Ont., who competed at the 2012 London Olympic Games, will lead the walk.
U.S. Ambassador David Jacobson will speak to the walkers once they reach the embassy, followed by a minute of silence.
There will also be a minute of silence held across Massachusetts at 2:50 p.m. ET Monday, which is when the first bomb exploded one week ago.
A funeral will be held Monday for 29-year-old Krystle Campbell, who died in the blast. It is the first funeral to take place for a bomb victim.
